J. Davis Construction, in partnership with Southern Wesleyan University, is excited to announce the completion of a new state of the art residence hall located on the Southern Wesleyan University campus in Central, SC.

This new 67,000 SF, 4 stories tall facility, will provide single, dual and triple occupancy for 243 students. Also included is an additional 15,000 SF of amenities space which contains a theater, study and workout facilities, student gathering spaces, a chapel and full parking spaces for 200 vehicles. With a very tight completion deadline, the facility was completed and ready to move into  for students returning this semester.

“Large building projects of substance and complexity require partnerships that bring value and time-tested experience to the table,”  says Dr. Todd Voss, President of Southern Wesleyan University. “We certainly found that with J. Davis Construction on this project.  There was no room for delay in the completion, but also no room for compromising quality.  We are delighted to report J. Davis delivered on both.”

Joel Davis, President of J. Davis Construction, was also very complimentary of the new building and the work that went into creating such a facility for the students.

“We are overjoyed to have completed this work for Southern Wesleyan, ” says Davis. “I am extremely proud of the team effort that went into this facility, and we are sure both the University and the students will be very happy going forward.”

Dr. Voss also had this to say concerning the student approval of their new residence.

“The response from students the moment they enter the new residence hall has been incredible,” says Dr. Voss. “This new living/learning environment is loaded with the kinds of community building ideas that, up to now, have only been a dream.  It is obvious from the design to the finished construction that a “students first” goal has been realized.”
